Economy ministry says Russia’s GDP falls 0.6% in 2016
MOSCOW, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 0.6% in 2016, the Economic Development Ministry said late on Monday in a weekly report.
The seasonally adjusted GDP fell 0.5% on the month and 1% on the year in December 2016, the ministry said. The result also contributed to the GDP dynamics in October–December 2016, which fell 0.1% on the quarter and 0.3% on the year excluding seasonality.
Russia’s industrial output grew 0.4% on the month in December, but retail fell 1%, agriculture contracted 0.2% and construction industry decreased 1.4%, according to the ministry’s report.
